Injuries and Sports-Related Conditions
Rotator Cuff Tears
Common in athletes and older adults, these involve tearing of the shoulder tendons. Patients experience weakness, pain when lifting, and difficulty sleeping on the affected side.
ACL Injuries
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) helps stabilize the knee. Tears often occur during sports with sudden stops or changes in direction. Treatment ranges from physiotherapy to surgical reconstruction.
Meniscus Tears
The knee’s shock absorbers can tear with twisting motions or age-related degeneration. Symptoms include locking, clicking, or pain when walking or squatting.
Tennis Elbow and Golfer’s Elbow
These overuse injuries affect the tendons around the elbow. They cause pain on the outside (tennis) or inside (golfer’s) of the elbow, especially with gripping or lifting.
Fractures and Dislocations
Whether from trauma or falls, broken bones and joint dislocations need accurate diagnosis and timely management. In some cases, surgical fixation may be necessary for optimal healing.
