Here are some common conditions affecting the bones in our hands and the appropriate physiotherapy.

1. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • What it is:
  • Compression of the median nerve at the wrist.
  • Physiotherapy Role:
  • Nerve gliding exercises, wrist mobilization, ergonomic training, splinting.

2. De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis

  • What it is:
  • Inflammation of tendons on the thumb side of the wrist.
  • Physiotherapy Role:
  • Stretching of abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis, strengthening, ultrasound therapy, taping.

3. Trigger Finger (Stenosing Tenosynovitis)
