Joint and Bone Disorders

Joint and Bone Disorders

Osteoarthritis
A degenerative joint condition that affects millions, especially the knees, hips, and hands. As cartilage wears away, bones rub against each other, causing pain, stiffness, and limited movement. Risk factors include age, obesity, joint injuries, and genetics.

Rheumatoid Arthritis
An autoimmune disorder where the immune system mistakenly attacks the joints, commonly in the hands and wrists. It can lead to chronic pain, swelling, deformity, and reduced function if not managed early.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)
This causes stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. Over time, movement becomes restricted. It’s commonly seen in people with diabetes or those recovering from shoulder injuries or surgery.

Tendonitis and Bursitis
Inflammation of tendons or bursae (small fluid-filled sacs) can occur from repetitive motion, poor posture, or overuse. Commonly affects the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee.

Osteoporosis
Characterized by decreased bone density, this condition leads to fragile bones and a higher risk of fractures, especially in the spine, hip, and wrist.
